Registration
Most midwives are employed in maternity hospitals or maternity units attached to general hospitals. However, midwives may also practise independently in the community. Registration as a midwife is required to practise as a Midwife in Ireland.Registration is granted on application to The Irish Nursing Board ( An Bord Altranais)
